It's officially fall, and in our house, that means a trip to the local apple orchard for some serious pickin' time. This year I was a little more excited about it than normal because I knew there was a certain little boy who would be in heaven. Trees to climb, fruit to pick... it doesn't get much better than that in the world of Little Weed #4.
Sweet One was away at a play date, so the boys and I headed out. When we first arrived, #4 stopped in his tracks at the sight of the scarecrow. He actually asked me to run back to the car to get his camera for him. This was something he just had to get a picture of. He definitely thought it was completely nuts. But what else is new in this crazy land called America?
We headed back to the orchard, and as soon as we were within sight of the trees, #4 began yelling, "Mama! Look!" He repeated that with the spotting of each and every apple. He finally slowed after about 50 exclamations. He was just tickled to see all that fruit just waiting to be picked. :)
The boys made quick work of the filling of our buckets and discussed all the yummies that "we" could make when we got home. Apple crisp was the definitive first request from Ziggity and Dr. Jiggles.
A good time was had by all, but #4 was sure to let the rest of us divy up the load to carry to the car. He said he couldn't help. He was too busy eating his apple...
Wow, looks like fun! And you got so many apples!
